Gone, gone the girl in brocade,
Gone the words we might have said.
Howl winds because she is dead,
and gone, gone, gone.
- Gone Gone Gone By The Gothic Archies
He had won his freedom.
He had lost his brother.
He had gained liberty.
But he had lost the person he loved the most, forever.
It was a few years before the start of the long war. America always remembered her smile. The nation swore that if she wished it she could get the whole world to stop fighting by just giving them a smile.
Her (hair length) (hair color) hair shone in the sun. When the light hit her creating a halo, revealing the angel creature she was.
America loved her more than anyone. Now she was gone, and it was all his fault.
~Before the War~
“Alfred, this is _____________, she is going to be your companion while I’m away,” England told the young colony.
The little girl waved shyly. She was no older than ten; America at that time appeared to be twelve.
America blushed. She was pretty. With that England left the two children.
“I-I’m Alfred,” America said sticking out his hand for her to shake.
___________ giggled and gave him a small curtsy while shaking his hand, “I’m _________. It’s nice to meet you.”
America blushed harder, “D-do you want to play with my soldiers?”
“Sure,” she said smiling.
That was when America fell in love with the most perfect girl in the world.
~During the War~
“A-Alfred, I can’t go with you,” _______ said crying.
“You have a duty to the colonies…and my father…” you took a deep breath, “my father wants me to return to England to find a suitable husband.”
America felt his heart break, “_________, please don’t…I love you.”
_________’s eyes filled with tears, “I love you too Alfred, so much it hurts.”
“Then run away with me, join the continental army,” he said holding her hands in his.
“What are you asking?”
America felt so frustrated at the whole situation, “__________, I’m asking you to marry me.”
Her face went quite red, “A-Alfred…yes.”
The colony picked her up and swung her around kissing her on the lips, “I promise __________, and once the war is over and I’m free the two of us will live happily ever after. Together.”
“I like that,” ___________ said holding his face in her hands and kissing him.
“It’s over England, I’m not your colony anymore. Go back home.” America turned his back
England snapped and rushed America, “No!”
___________ ran out from the crowd, “ALFRED!”
Alfred managed to block England’s attack, but as England’s gun fell someone from his army shot their gun. Alfred closed his eyes thinking he was the one who got hit. Slowly his eyes opened, he was fine. “________ I’m-__________!” He ran over to her limp forum.
“A…Al…” she reached up to hold his face in her hand, “I...love…”
“_________, it’s going to be ok,” America said tears running down his cheeks, “please stay with me. I need you.”
__________ smiled sadly, knowing she didn’t have that much time, “I love you Alfred Jones…” With that she took her last breath.
“I love you, __________ Jones,” America whispered.
~Back to Present~
America continued to blame himself. If he hadn’t been so selfish and married her then she would have been safe in England. He fingered the small gold bands in the little box gingerly. She was the best thing that ever happened to him.
That’s when he noticed something. A small note under the rings.
Yes, I know your secret. And I know that you are destined to live for a very long time. I don’t pretend that I’m going to be around that long. So I decided to write you this letter, when I’m gone, don’t blame yourself. I don’t want you going through life hurting inside. You gave me the best years of my life, and I love you.
America cried as he finished the letter. He would still miss her for the rest of his life.
