"I'm sorry __________, but it's just not working out," your boyfriend said.
You nodded, you really liked him. It was like losing a best friend or a dog, but you didn't love him.
"Sorry," he said and left.
Sitting on the park bench you felt small tears come to your eyes. The two od you had been together for half a year. Now it was over.
"Hello __________," a voice from behind snarled, "why are you crying. Did your boyfriend break up with you?"
You looked up at Francis with a curious eye, "Yes…why?"
He laughed, not a very nice one either, "Well it must be that you're so ugly. No one in his right mind would date you looking like that. He was right to dump you. You are so ugly."
A few more tears came to your eyes, "That's not why he said we just weren't working out and-."
"But was that what he meant? Believe me, you're ugly and no man is ever going to want you." With that he walked off.
You started to cry, maybe you were ugly…maybe you were.
"__________, I can't take any more of this, we are though, ok?" your ex-boyfriend said.
You sighed, "Sure, whatever."
"I'm sorry ________, you just seem too insecure. You ask me every day if I think you're beautiful and it's getting really old," he said and left.
"Hmm dumped again?" Francis asked popping up behind you.
"You're a coward ___________, that's why he doesn't like you. You're too easy to scare."
You felt tears come to your eyes, "N-no…"
He laughed, "You're ugly and cowardly. No wonder you're all alone."
He left you there, in the school yard, crying.
'I think we should break up.'
The text message stared back at you with an unblinking eye. You felt tears come to your eyes. This was way worse than hearing it in person.
"Let me see that," you bully said taking the phone from you. "Ohonhon, he broke up with you! I knew it; someone like you will always end up alone. You're just too stupid."
Again he was gone.
"But why Artie?"
Arthur shouted at you, "Why? You're insecure! You close yourself off from everyone! I'm not going to put up with you. We. Are. Over!"
He slapped you across the face. "Leave me alone!"
You held your burning cheek with shock, he had hit you. He had actually hit you. The weather seemed to want to match your mood as it began to rain, heavily too. You just stood there as Arthur walked out of your life.
"Hmm broke up ag-."
You walked away, too tired to put up with him today.
"Wait!" Francis caught up to you and noticed the bruise starting to forum on your cheek. "_________, did he hit you?"
Nothing came from you.
Francis stopped you and made you face him, "I can't help you if you don't-."
"Help me?" you snapped. "Help me? You have successfully ruined every one of my relationships and you want to help me? How dare you? Is my life some sort of sick game for you to mess with?" Pushing him off you walked away.
"Non, __________ wait!" Francis grabbed you again. "_________, please I-I'm sorry! I love you!"
Your expression froze. "W-what?"
"I've loved you ever since we were children, I'm sorry I hurt you," he said and started to cry, "but every time you got a new boyfriend I got jealous and I didn't know how to deal with it. I was a child, and I acted like a child. Please forgive me, I'm an adult now and I know how to express how much I love you."
With that he kissed you.
After the kiss was over you whispered, "Breakups hurt Francis and you only made them worse." His expression faded, "But I'm willing to let you make this one better."
He smiled and the two of you kissed again.
