"Tino where's Berwald?"
"B-Berwald?" asked Tino, "N-no, I think he went
You crossed your arms and raised an eyebrow, "Out? Out where?"
Tino continued to shake, "I-I don't know!" he ran off.
"That was weird," you muttered.
Tonight was your one year anniversary with Berwald. Exactly one year ago Berwald asked you to go out on a date. Exactly one year ago he confessed that he was in love with you. And you had the perfect gift for him.
The door opened about a half hour later and Berwald walked in, "I'm home."
"Hi, how was
work?" Berwald didn't even look at you; he just went to the fridge and got a drink. You sighed and then put on your cheeriest smile. "Hi honey, how was work?"
"Hmm," he said taking a sip.
"Are you ready for tonight?"
He raised an eyebrow, "What's tonight?"
You could hear the sound of a pin dropping that how quiet it was. Your mind went blank, you nervously started to giggle, "That's funny, but seriously Berwald when are we leaving?"
He sighed, "Where?"
Words you wanted to say caught in your throat. It wasn't as if you were one of those weird girlfriends who celebrated month anniversaries. No, you hadn't even said a word about how long the two of you had been dating. You believed that he'd remember the day that he asked the woman he loved to go out on a date with him.
A little voice in your mind told you that maybe he just forgot. However the idiot in your mind that had taken over said, he probably doesn't love you anymore. He doesn't even remember what today is, it's not important to him. You aren't important to him.
You bit your lower lip and let out a shaky, "N-nothing, m-must have had my days mixed up." Quickly you bolted from the room to your where you started to cry softly. You felt so insignificant at that moment. One year, you at least expected him to say happy anniversary.
Slowly you drifted off into dream land.
"__________," someone said pulling you out of unconsciousness. "___________, wake up." It was Berwald.
"What do you want?" you asked tiredly.
"Come downstairs," he said taking your hand in his. You hand was so tiny compared to his you had no choice to accompany your boyfriend downstairs. However you realized that status would change.
The dining room was lit with candles. He had gotten the good plates out and he had made (favorite food). You gasped, "What's this?"
"Happy anniversary __________," he murmured into your hair, gently he kissed your temple. "Did you really think I forgot?"
"I-I, umm," you were at a loss for words.
Your usually serious boyfriend cracked a smile. He moved to go in front of you and knelt in front of you, taking out a small black box he said "__________, will you by my wife?" In the box was a diamond engagement ring. The diamond was in the center of a heart.
He was proposing to you. Suddenly you felt very self-conscious. Word seemed to be jumbled up in your brain, but you seemed to find the right words to say. Very quietly, almost silently you let out, "Yes."
"YES!" you shouted hugging him. "I love you so much."
"I love you too _________."
